مسبقا وليس احتجاجا عفويا خرج عن نطاق السيطرة كما يصور البعض.

هذه هي الوثائق، التي عثرت عليها قناة الان داخل القنصلية الاميريكية وتحديدا في المبنى الذي يسمى مركز العمليات التكتيكية او
Tactical Operation Center .
هذه هي الوثائق الأكثر أهمية. رسائل مكتوبة من قبل طاقم القنصلية الميريكية. بتاريخ  الحادي عشر من سبتمبر، اي يوم الهجوم تحيديدا.
احدى الرسائل موجهة الى وزارة الشؤون الخارجية الليبية اي ال MFA  كما هو مبين في اعلى الوثيقة. اما الرسالة الاخرى وهي تقريبا متطابقة في المضمون كانت موجهة الى رئيس شرطة بنغازي.
في الرسائل، يشتكي الأميركيون من حادث حصل في صباح الحادي عشر من سمبتمر وصفوه "بالمثير للقلق". اما النص الحرفي للرسائل فهو كالتالي:
في وقت مبكر من صباح اليوم 11 سبتمبر 2012 تمام الساعة 06.43 رفع واحد من حراسنا الدؤبيين تقريرا مثيرا للقلق. اذ بالقرب من بوابةتنا الرئيسية ، شوهد عنصرا من الشرطة في الطابق العلوي للمبنى الواقع على الجانب الاخر من القنصلية. ويذكر أن هذا الشخص، الذي ينتمي الى وحدة الشرطة التي أرسلت لحماية البعثثة،  كان يصور داخل القنصلية الاميريكية.
وتضيف الرسالة معلومات هامة عن سيارة الشرطة المتواجدة في المكان:
